FAIRFAX, Va. –-(Ammoland.com)- This week begins the most important 26-day  period for our Second Amendment freedoms in recent history.

That’s because today, representatives from many of the world’s socialist,  tyrannical and dictatorial regimes will gather at United Nations headquarters in  New York for a month-long meeting, in which they’ll put the finishing touches on  an international Arms Trade Treaty that could seriously restrict your freedom to  own, purchase and carry a firearm.

Specifically, the U.N. wants to implement international gun registration  requirements, bans on commonly owned firearms, tracking and registration of  ammunition purchases, and create a new U.N. gun control bureaucracy.

You might think that something so obviously menacing to one of our enumerated  fundamental rights would receive a strong rebuke from our top government  leaders.

But you’d be wrong. This is President Barack Obama’s vision for America,  and we’re expected to just go along with it.

For those that have not read the Constitution, a treaty does NOT change our Constitution. The ONLY way to change the Constitution is by an Amendment, therefore the Second Amendment WILL remain valid and anyone trying to take citizens weapons based on a treaty can and will be dealt with the same as a armed intruder!!

  1. You are incorrect in your assumption. A US Government ratified treaty supersedes the US Constitution. So when this document is signed technically guns could be illegal. It would take a 2/3 Senate majority vote for this to happen.

    Kinda frightening

    • Article VI: Legal Status of the Constitution

      Clause 2:
      This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.
      ////////////////////
      This clause in the Constitution says that the Constitution and the laws of the United States are above any treaties. Also, Things in the Constitution and laws of the states override any treaty.

      Read the Constitution for yourself.

  2. When the Constitution and the laws are listed first, they take priority over the treaties. Also where it says that “any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding” means that they override the treaty. The treaty is only valid if no other law or Constitutional requirement is stepped on.

    The “only” way to change the Constitution is by an Amendment. No treaty can change the Constitution!!!!

  3. If enough red blooded americans will get off their butts , we can run the U.N. off the continent…..give me some men who are stouted hearted men , who will fight for the right they adore!!!! Ole Grizz
